We have been asked for more email accounts, or lower cost plans for static HTML sites, and guess what, they are now live. We have a new Light and Plus version plans. This gives a lot more flexibility to our users and giving us the ability to actually have a plan that only costs $0.60 per month (500light, a non database/mail type)!

Important change to legacy free sites

Last year we stopped offering free sites for general use, and we left all old free sites running for the last year. We are going to be switching the free sites that are on regular user accounts in the next few weeks to the small plan. We do have a free option still available for teachers and students that will not be affected by this change. We are growing as a platform and keeping support for a old and almost unused system of sites is not good for continued growth of our platform.

CloudBleed just happened, but NodeHost accounts are safe

Cloud provider for CDN services Cloudflare just found a major flaw thanks to Tavis Ormandy that found leaked info from server memory (the bleed in CloudBleed) and reported it to Cloudflare. It was stoped within 1 hour but the real trouble is that the flaw has been around for months and months. The problem is it would on some sites (around 3000) would dump server memory items in the request for pages from the sites. It would dump memory of random sites that had requests handled by the same server. This is good news as not all sites would have had any information made public.
