NEW* Hosting plans for scale
We have been asked for more email accounts, or lower cost plans for static HTML sites, and guess what, they are now live. We have a new Light and Plus version plans. This gives a lot more flexibility to our users and giving us the ability to actually have a plan that only costs $0.60 per month (500light, a non database/mail type)!
Say hello to version 3
We are working on a lot of cool stuff and can't wait to share it all. But for today we have launched our version 3 panel. We also have a new BETA program you can join in settings to use the new stuff as we build them from this point on.
PHP7 has arived
Just in time for the summer, and all the small business sites that want to stand out and be faster then the others, we now have a location with PHP7 as of today.
Important change to legacy free sites
Last year we stopped offering free sites for general use, and we left all old free sites running for the last year. We are going to be switching the free sites that are on regular user accounts in the next few weeks to the small plan. We do have a free option still available for teachers and students that will not be affected by this change. We are growing as a platform and keeping support for a old and almost unused system of sites is not good for continued growth of our platform.
CloudBleed just happened, but NodeHost accounts are safe
Cloud provider for CDN services Cloudflare just found a major flaw thanks to Tavis Ormandy that found leaked info from server memory (the bleed in CloudBleed) and reported it to Cloudflare. It was stoped within 1 hour but the real trouble is that the flaw has been around for months and months. The problem is it would on some sites (around 3000) would dump server memory items in the request for pages from the sites. It would dump memory of random sites that had requests handled by the same server. This is good news as not all sites would have had any information made public.
